Bank of Abject Objects (2016)

DIY bank of stored fecal matter.

This sculptural installation represents an at home, do-it-yourself (DIY), version of a shit bank. Today people “bank” fecal samples when they are healthy to use in a fecal microbial transplant if their body system becomes compromised through extensive antibiotic use or disease.

This proposed at home version of a stool bank floats feces in honey (a natural preservative) within a sealed glass container. While as of yet untested, this proposal could eliminate the costs of refrigeration and storage.
